Day 4 – Buckeye, AZ

Posted by Paul - July 19, 2012 - Uncategorized
Day 3 - Flagstaff, AZ to Buckeye, AZ

Did some off-roading, nothing extreme, but still fun. Took a dip in the pool. Just ‘chilled’ (is that possible in AZ in the height of the summer?).  Drove into town (Glendale) and spent some time browsing around Cabela’s (http://www.cabelas.com). I bought a new “doo rag” (to wear under my helmet, to try to keep the lining as new as possible for as long as possible). Came back and finished off the rest of the pizza.

Tomorrow I thought I would be riding from Buckeye to Prescott. But now it looks like I’ll be going to Evergreen, Colorado (near Denver). That would be 3 days of easy riding, but I’m going to do my best to do it in two long days: Buckeye to Grand Junction, then Grand Junction to Evergreen. Another buddy, who I haven’t seen since my McDonnell Douglas / Boeing days, says I might be able to get a job in his area (Aircellin Broomfield, CO). It will be good to see him, and who knows – it could happen.
