I didn’t have as far to go today as Day 1, so I had a leisurely breakfast, packed everything up and hit the road. Shot right by Prescott, hoping I would stop by after I leaving Buckeye. They also have a community college there. Met my buddy at his house around 2:30pm. He showed me around the town a bit. Later we had pizza delivered, watched a couple of episodes of The Rifleman (from the 50’s).
It warmed up progressively as I let the altitude of Flagstaff and headed down to Buckeye. It was well over 100F. Buckeye is primarily an agricultural center and is about 1/2 hour outside of Phoenix. So he has the slower, quieter pace he was looking for, after getting the h*@# out of California, but the conveniences of a large city not too far away.
